trendy triangles--an old WIP

Yesterday I pulled out an old WIP. According to Instagram, the last time that I worked on this project was 75 weeks ago. That's a bit of time!
It didn't take me long-just a few hours of concentrated effort-to make the remaining 52 blocks that I needed. Now, I'm wondering why I waited so long. Isn't that always the way?
Trimming, on the other hand, took a little bit of time. This 60 degree ruler (by creative grids) made it much easier. This ruler is worth every penny that I spent on it! (I trimmed the blocks to 7 3/4" each.)
It turns out that I needed another row, to make the quilt proportionate, so I made another 11 blocks today....added filler triangles, and sewed it up. I'm very pleased with this completed quilt top!
The pattern is based on Cheryl's Nap Like an Egyptian quilt, which is found in Sunday Morning Quilts. The quilt top measures approximately 52" x 66".

It feels SO great to be making some serious progress on my WIP list. I hope the trend continues!

I like this a lot. That quilt has been on my 'to make' list since I got the book. I should, um, get around to that since I'm inspired anew looking at yours.

What a pretty and unique quilt. I really like this take on that quilt. We made triangle blocks for our queen in the Sunday Morning Quilts bee, but this inspires me anew to try it again.

Now this is the kind of tutorial you don't want to see when you are telling your self no new quits this year LOL. I love it, looks like a fun construction, and the finished quilt us gorgoues so fresh and a touch of Spring to it, would be so lovely and fresh on a guests bed. Great blog thanks Glenda FNQLD

Amanda, your quilt is so Egyptian and beautiful. . . I looked at the pattern in Sunday Morning Quilts (love the book) but got a little confused. . . could you give a little more detail as to how you made your blocks. BTW, I am geometrically challenged. . . so please forgive me.

I think this quilt is adorable. I have a thing for triangles. I also like scrappy. So I think this quilt will fill both desires. I actually think I have this ruler.

Oooh, that's beautiful. I have the book and need to pull it out once our kitchen remodel (and the dust) is over. Fingers crossed that's soon!

This is seriously cute! I have so many projects that get pushed aside for new starts, and when I get back to them I can never understand why they didn't hold my attention long enough to finish them, because I love them.

Great finish for you!! I bet you feel lighter.

I love this! I have your book, so I'm going to have a closer look at the pattern. How much time would you spend sewing each week? You seem to be able to finish projects so quickly!!

Your quilt is SUPER CUTE! 😍😍😍😍!!!! You mentioned that you did your binding by machine, which I'm all for that method. Could you share your machine binding method, please?
